What is the Star of 13?

The name Star of 13 comes from the geometric shape we use to visualise the inter-relationship of the thirteen energies. It is formed by the complex interaction of the twelve energies, represented by a star with 12 points, with the thirteenth point in the centre, representing Non-energy, a space that must be passed regularly in the cycle of movement from the activation or experience of one energy to that of another.

We understand the 13 energies as the basic, or primal energies that form our universe. When experienced together they are the source, or God. One way to understand how they work together is to think of light. Light is a single unified form of energy, yet when we separate a beam of light we can perceive the different aspects of light as a spectrum, or a rainbow. The 13 energies could be compared to the specific colours of the rainbow.

Each of the energies has a specific function, and needs to be released and balanced on the planet, and in each of us. As long as some energies are more or less blocked, others will play too strong a role and dominate in an unhealthy way. Although the names of the energies are not really as important as the 'feeling', or movement associated with them, we have to name them to be able to talk about them. Our names are as follows: Fire, Silver, Neon, Masculine, Feminine, Ether, Iron, Water, Gold, Planetary, Gamma, Diamond, and Non-energy. Non-energy is really the absence of the other energies, but as it is an important part of the cyclical "rhythm" with a 'feeling' all of its own, we have included it as a separate energy.

Each of the energies has several symbols directed related to it, except for the 13th, which is associated only with a zero symbol: the empty, or full, circle. A lot of the symbols are ancient, and have appeared in many different cultures. We can use the symbols to help us connect to and activate the different energies.
